Dr. Bartkus earned her medical degree from Guayaquil University School of Medicine in Ecuador. She then pursued her neurology residency program at Tufts Medical Center. Following this experience, she completed her fellowship in Clinical Neurophysiology with emphasis on Electromyography (EMG) and neuromuscular disease at Lahey Hospital and Medical Center and was the affiliating clinical fellow in electromyography at Boston Children’s Hospital.
She specializes in general neurology and neuromuscular disorders such as diagnosing and treating Guillain-Barre syndrome, myasthenia gravis, amyotrophic lateral sclerosis (ALS), peripheral neuropathy, myopathies and autonomic disorders. She performs electromyography (NCS/EMG) in children and adults supporting the diagnosis of polyneuropathies, plexopathies, radiculopathies, neuromuscular junction disorders, motor neuron disease, and myopathies. She also treats cervical dystonia, hemifacial spasm, and spasticity with botulism toxin. She is bilingual in English and Spanish.
